Virgin Atlantic - Bravo and Thank You

In November 20 we booked a bargain £996 return Upper class ticket to New York leaving the end of May. Virgin flights are still going so I knew the best we could hope for is a credit voucher which is not the end of the world. We had the option to change the dates two times and additionally make a name change on one of the tickets. We have flown with Virgin a number of times so know we will use for the future but £995 does not get you a Virgin Upper Class fare to anywhere.
When I called them this week to change the date or potentially get a cash refund because the flight time had been changed a number of times they told me that I wouldnt want to get a cash refund because they will honour the Upper Class fare to anywhere in the world as long as I used it before April 22.
I thought of Hong Kong or even Shanghai but I dont think they are going to open and we want to go somewhere this summer. So New York it is... Thank you Virgin. I have read their various policies and they are horribly confusing but I spent 30 mins trying to get through rather than try and change things around myself and by speaking to a real person its been sorted. We cannot change again under this policy so if the US isnt open then it becomes a credit but hopefully we should be fine.
In these tough times of travel its good to say thank you to an operator who is seeing the bigger picture. They have also just launched CV19 test packages and you just put in the destination and they tell you what you need to order.

I just had the same thing. I also got an amazing fare of £997 to LA. Our flight has been moved 24 hrs - so they will honour the price we paid for any flight in the same class. One thing I'm concerned about is I don't see it in writing, it's actually a very new policy change. Have you booked your next flight or are you waiting?0
