I am curious about this too because I am downsizing and may have about £100 000 surplus after the sale and purchase. Does anyone know if I need to notify my bank in advance that there will be a large sum of money coming in?0

We didn’t. The bank just sent us a letter to say that it had come in. We then moved it to other accounts to try and earn some interest. As others have said, premium bonds are best if you have average luck - it appears my partner and I do not have average luck as we have won nothing despite having the maximum amount!verytired11 said:I am curious about this too because I am downsizing and may have about £100 000 surplus after the sale and purchase. We put ours into a Virgin money account but be careful about the compensation scheme max. compensation if things go wrong.
