I have a new untaxed vehicle and do not have the V5C/2. Really worried. What should I do?
Purchased a new car from a large dealership, they took my bank account details to set up the tax via direct debit and told me that it would be done. Exactly what happened during my last vehicle purchase which went without issue.
3 days on, and the vehicle is still returning as untaxed on a DVLA database search.
I only realized the day after collecting it that they hadn't given me the V5C supplement (aka. green slip), and I can't find a way to tax the car via the DVLA website without it.
got on their case yesterday, twice, and was promised a call back which I'm yet to receive. I think I'm going to go down there on the bounce and kick up a stink in front of everyone tomorrow morning.
Not sure whether I should feel more uncomfortable about the lack of my part of the logbook or the lack of tax. They're a large dealership and HPI check everything so I can't imagine there is anything untoward.
Any advice regarding this and the lack of the V5C slip? Any way I can I tax this without?

£25, because you don't have the V5C/2.0 -
I would be going to the dealer in person and asking for the V5 first of all. They should have given it to you when you picked up the car.

The dealer will probably have sent the V5c off for you online.

It takes up to 5 working days for the vehicle tax records to update online:

Still a bit annoyed I didn't get the V5 green slip. I think the fact that the car is pretty hot/desirable only adds to my concerns though I do think it is very highly unlikely that a large reputable car supermarket would be handling stolen motors, even if it 'slipped through the net.0
