Parking Ticket after paying by Phone

Hi All, looking for advice after reading the Newbie thread and searching the forum.
I purchased a paper ticket to park my car at a car park monitored by spring parking and stuck it in the window of the vehicle. After finding that the ticket I'd bought wouldn't cover the whole of our intended stay and having no more change, I bought an additional ticket through my paybyphone account.
I left the original ticket in the window, and when I returned I had been issued a parking ticket because the paper ticket had expired.
I have appealed to spring parking and provided evidence that we had paid for a whole days parking through paybyphone, but they have rejected the appeal and provided a POPLA number.
My question really is am I missing something? Have I shot my self in the foot by displaying an expired ticket, or are they just trying it on? Is it worth writing a full appeal as advised here or are POPLA likely to find in my favour on the basis that I had bought a second valid ticket?

Write a full Popla appeal , provide evidence of payment , let Popla decide ( plan C )
You have already done plan B , the appeal to Spring
So what happened to plan A ??1 -
Let's have a look at a redacted copy of the Notice to Keeper (both sides), but, importantly, leave all the dates showing. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Did you admit to being the driver by ticking a box on the appeals page or blabbing abiut who parked, in the actual appeal? Or did you say ''we'' and NOT tick any drop-down menu choice as 'driver'?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm trying to determine who the landowner is (I believe it may be a charitable trust) and will then write to explain the circumstances.Redx said:Write a full Popla appeal , provide evidence of payment , let Popla decide ( plan C )

I don't have a NTK yet, naively I thought that Spring Parking would treat me reasonably when I wrote to them to appeal and provide evidence of a valid ticket.Umkomaas said:Let's have a look at a redacted copy of the Notice to Keeper (both sides), but, importantly, leave all the dates showing.0 -
Have you complained to Trading Standards and/or your MP?

I'm trying to determine who the landowner is (I believe it may be a charitable trust) and will then write to explain the circumstances.SOME IDEAS ON DETERMINING WHO OWNS THE LAND
©️Umkomaas 02/21 !! 🤓1. Google searches2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park (some councils have a spreadsheet on their website)6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information7. Contact The Land Registry and for around £3 they should be able to provide definitive detail8. Give us the name of the car park, we may have seen other cases there. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
