click mode. best value, good quality. their USB sockets are not the best though I'd recommend BG for them

BG nexus, the sockets are ok, switches are rubbish the terminals are a bad design and very often the switches fail and go floppy
MK, absolute rip off, and awful to fit, poor quality screws, yet they seem to be doing well trading off the name and people still think they are the best...?

If fit the Crabtree Capital range of sockets and light switches. They have a very nice feel to the switches and are well made. They are readily available at Screwfix and there are small volume discounts available.
Thanks, they seem like a decent price point. Little bit more than the ones I've found online which can be had for £2 a unit but given I'd be ordering more than 6 I can get the Screwfix ones for £2.65 a unit. They do like a nice finish whereas the online ones could be quite tough and poorly finished.

Yes, with their gently curved switches, the Crabtree ranges look and feel that bit better than most.
The sparky we had recently swears by 'Click', and the items we fitted were nickel black or similar, and certainly look and feel gooood. They also do standard white stuff https://www.click4electrics.co.uk/click-mode-white-socket-outlets-c-328_516_342_15/click-mode-twin-usb-double-switched-socket-cma780-p-8401

Ouch! They're nice but way more expensive than the screwfix and online ones.
All the sparkies who came to do quotes on a load of work here recommended Click Mode. Bear in mind that the link Jeepers sent is a USB charger, so will be more expensive. If you're going for plastic, I must say I'm really happy with the look and feel of the Click Mode. £2.32 for the double socket is the price point.

Not a huge fan of that type as the usb always draws power doesn’t it?
    About 0.5Wh/day reportedly.

MK is absolute rubbish. The quallity now is abysmal. I use either Click Mode or Deco (or Polar for some things like pull cords) or Hager Sollysta these days.

The MK plates I've used over the last couple of years have been absolute trash.

I fit the click mode light switches recently.  I'm keen on them as they're modular - so you can remove a switch and replace it with an FCU for example.  I did this on a couple of lights that are permanently on and instead controlled via Philips Hue.

Interesting, sounds like overall MK used to be good but aren't anymore based on these comments. I also saw a lot of negatives on BG. Seems like Click mode is the way to go. I just hope they line up well. Do you tend to measure the size of the back box before ordering or do you tend to check the distance between the screws to ensure you can fit it on?

    They're standard size accessories.
