Mortgage offer received in the post today :)

Does anyone know when they take the first mortgage payment? I think we requested the 1st of each month ( easier know it’s gone beginning of the month)

It is highly unlikely we can complete before month end. If we complete sometime in July will the first payment be 1st August or could they take it in July?

We are trying to budget especially as we have to pay the extra £2450 in stamp duty now :( x
  • I think our offer said the month after completion but it will be a larger payment as interest will be applied from day 1. I'm not exactly sure, was hoping they'd send a payment schedule nearer the time. We're not due to complete for a few months yet.

I received my morgage offer last week, 3 days after the valuation so from application to offer it took 4 1/2 weeks in total. I hope this helps anyone who's recently submitted an application with Vida, they do come back and ask for additional information and maybe additional documents but I suppose this is to be expected. Also, a good broker who knows exactly what they're doing is worth their weight in gold and saves a lot of time/stress 🙂

    So we complete tomorrow 🙌🏼

Product fee of £995 was not added to our mortgage (wasn’t given the option). Solicitor asked for extra £1030 to cover product fee and transfer fee.

Vida paid our solicitor today- already to get keys tomorrow :)

Still not 100% on first payment. Says interest is calculated from completion day and take in following month. I tried to ring Vida yesterday but weren’t very helpful. Kept passing me to various departments. They did say I’ll get a letter in the post just after completion.

Trying to update with as much information. We were clueless & I couldn’t find much on Vida :)
  • Hi,

Has anyone completed recently with Vida? What was the process after you received the offer ? Did it take long ?

    Thank you
  • Hi, we completed on 20th September. The application went in at the end of May via Clever mortgages who were very professional and had already packaged the application so they had requested  all the documents from us ready that Vida may ask for. Vida did come back and ask a few questions which we answered promptly and the application took approximately 3 weeks from when it went to Vida to offer. The completion was delayed due to our chain. Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you for your reply it's really appreciated. Was there any back and fourth between offer and completion ?
  • Hi, no not at all. Once we received the offer that was it until completion, thebonly thing we had to do was make sure the buildings insurance was in place and send the proof over to our solicitors about a week before completing.
