Visa keep freezing my debit card for too many transactions via my ebay business

I've got my own ebay business, and recently, because ebay have switched receiving payments via paypal and are now doing it themselves. I now have to pay postage on items I've sold via my Visa Debit Card individually, rather than my paypal credit, the problem is I'm now allowed around 30 transactions before the card is frozen for the day, which is less than my daily sales rate. I have contacted ebay, who were quite defensive and said it is the banks's problem, as their managed payments service is new'  they haven't worked out how to use your ebay managed payment#s credit for postage. The bank (Halifax) is saying Visa is doing it and is beyond their control. Visa only seems to have been imposing this limit within the past few weeks, as you can imagine it is very disruptive.

Is this a personal current account or a business current account?

as an additional, I don't usually use my debit card for business, I've been forced to do it because ebay and paypal no longer operate together, before I could just dip into my paypal funds to print off postage labels, now ebay are processing payments themselves, there's no option to use these funds to pay postage, I'm forced to use my debit card.

Then you need to get a business account.

Aside from the fact that you can't really complain that you're not able to run your business through a personal account, drawing attention to this is quite possibly going to result in them closing your account.

If you don't have one get another account opened asap.  Your bank account could be frozen/closed with no notice.

Yes - if they suspect you're running a business using a personal account - there's a strong chance they'll identify it and close down your account (and any other banking relationships within that same banking group). It'd be a good idea to look into an alternative option to deal with these payments. Are you an official business? Or doing something on the side?

Use a different postage provider that allows you to pay for the total order in one transaction.

That's not really the correct solution.  Not if the OP wants to retain their Halifax account anyway.

well It would be self defeating for Halifax to close my personal account when my Halifax mortgage is paid from it, but thanks, another way to rip you off with fees.. Before, I used my Paypal  ''business'' account credit, for these things, but because ebay and paypal have lost their relationship, it's difficult to credit it.
