Looking for advice on what to do next.
Bought my mum a sim free phone last July via Amazon. Worked fine until end of December when it stopped charging.
Sent an email to the company listed as the supplier on the Amazon site. They informed me that they did not supply the phone and have tried in the past to get Amazon to remove their details.
There was an email address and postage address in the box the phone came in, asking for any repair/exchange to be sent to the address given. Something felt 'off' so I decided to email before I sent the phone off. Emails were never replied to.
Do I just chalk this up to experience and call it a day?
Amazon accept no responsibility for the repair/replacement.
If the goods bought are not did for purpose who is responsible?

Where are you looking for the company?
If you go into your orders, select view order details and then click to view invoice it will definitively tell you who you bought from... clicking on the link for the item risks bringing back whoever the top seller for the item is now who may not have been who you bought from.0 -
Hi Sandtree...that's exactly what I did. But they state that they did not supply the product. Told me that they have informed Amazon of this error several times, with no result.
I think I'm going to have to chalk this up to experience.Scrappie

Hmmm... I fully agree that if you click the item then the page you hit may show a different company than supplied your item but to say the invoice is wrong is more fundamental accusation.scrappie_2 said:Hi Sandtree...that's exactly what I did. You either chalk it up to experience or you send a letter before action and take a punt in court... are they in the UK or overseas? They would be hard pressed to prove that Amazon doesn't know who the merchant is but that doesn't mean you'll get your monies back inc the court fees.
