Update: So it was completely pointless me having a smart meter (apart from being able to secure a cheaper tariff) as it is unable to report back to EDF
Possibly just temporary connectivity issues with the DCC network in your area, chances are they will get resolved eventually - otherwise EDF/installer wouldn't have gone ahead with the installation if there was zero DCC signal in your area. I remember when i got smets2 meters installed in late 2019 with EON, they worked on and off (wrt comms back to EON) for the first month ot so, after that they've been rock solid.
I asked around in the village where I live via the village newsletter. Two households had nearly had smart meters fitted but the installer pulled out when they discovered there was no signal. Two other households had smart meters fitted that do not function as such because there is no signal.
We had a smart meter installed for use with our E7 in January by Octopus, it took months for the unit to 'connect' or whatever it does with their system, until April, but since then has worked fine, always fun to see what energy different appliances use!
