So I done a dmp 5 years ago another years time and three of my defaults will be off of my credit file .I we I’ll only have one default left I’m debt free but our mortgage is due for renewal next year ,I wanted to remortgage with someone different and borrow some extra for home improvements , will this one default have an effect ?

If you have a mortgage then you are not debt free.
Is the extra for home improvements needed? You might find it easier if you are just moving your existing debt to a new provider rather than looking to add some more debt on top of that. You want to make new lenders as less nervous as you possibly can.2
