Can I still claim a repair on a electric/gas range that is 6 months past it’s 12 month guarantee?

After six months you will likely be asked to prove there was an inherent fault with the cooker, this is usually done by commissioning an independent report. If its found to have an inherent fault the retailer should cover the cost of this report as well as providing a repair, replacement or a refund (reduced to reflect the use of the product you've already had).0

Guarantee/ warranty is subject to its T&C and time scale .So no you cannot claim under that .This is not your Consumer Rights under the law .CR is against the vendor contact them with your problem .See post above .0
