I do something similar but try to keep my age below 120.

I had a few similar requests but ignored them. I've not had any for a while but nothing untoward seems to have happened, I still have access to all my Google apps and I can't see anything's different.

It is all a fuss about nothing:

    1. of course Google want your birth date - why wouldn't they - they are a data collection company
    2. yes, Google have to comply with laws about age etc
    3. either give them your birthdate, or a false one. Just make sure you are over 13.

I find that the start date (year 0) of the DOS FAT file system, 01/01/1980, is an ideal "birthday" for ancient geeks!

If you want to be more geeky you could use 01/01/1970 which is the birth of Unix time. :)

Thanks.  I was intrigued by this being a legal requirement - is that really so?
I might take up J_B's idea and make my self 121 years old!
Sadly some won't accept it and I have to put 01/01/1910 :D

The only problem using the "01/01/xxxx' is that you tend to get birthday notifications coming up on your phone first thing in the morning of a New Years day when you're trying your best to lie in and nurse a hangover 😁
