Magzter stopped because Groupon not paid. Groupon only offering credit

I bought a 12 months Magzter subscription through Groupon last November and it was all working fine until last week it just stopped working. I contacted Magzter and they said it had been stopped as Groupon had not paid them. I contacted Groupon and after a pointless suggestion about making sure I had enabled Auto renew on Magzter, they offered a refund in the form of Groupon credit. I very very rarely use groupon so I said I wanted either the rest of the service I paid for with Magzter or my money back. They responded saying "this deal is no longer eligible for a refund to your original form of payment".

What rights do I have? Do I have to accept the credit or should they give me my money back (As they haven't paid it to Magzter)

    This is one of the problems with using groupon or other voucher providers, you bought groupon credit which you subsequently used to pay for the subscription.  Therefore, the refund comes in groupon credit.  You now have back what you bought: groupon credit.

    It's a familiar tale on here with groupon, wowcher, etc.

    This is true, but their T&Cs also state:
    5.4 If you redeem your Voucher, but the Merchant or Groupon Shop has not properly provided you with the Merchant Offering or the Groupon Shop Goods, or if you have a complaint regarding the provision of the Merchant Offering or the Groupon Shop Goods, you must take action against the Merchant or Groupon Shop directly. This is because the Merchant or Groupon Shop, and not Groupon, is responsible for the supply and/or provision of the Merchant Offering or Groupon Shop Goods. Groupon only sells and supplies the Voucher. However, if you and the Merchant or Groupon Shop cannot agree on how to resolve the complaint, Groupon may, upon your request, try to help resolve the issue between you and the Merchant or Groupon Shop.

    It reads to me that the OP has redeemed the voucher with the merchant for a monthly delivery for a set period of time, but as it is GROUPON refusing to pay the Merchant, then the merchant quite rightfully will not deliver. 

    I would say under these circumstances that Groupon are entirely at fault and not the merchant (as the goods are still available), so a proportional refund is due.

    How to get it is another matter though...

    The OP states..

    If you use a  (groupon) voucher to purchase anything from another company. Then all Groupon will offer is a credit voucher.
