Furniture company

Back in November, I ordered a sofa from DFS. We put a do not deliver before date (29/4) on it as i wanted to get it all paid for. I finished paying for it in march and rang them, as per email, to say Id paid for it, hoping to get the sofa sooner. The reply was no, Id have to wait till May even though the manufacture time is 12 weeks and this had been and gone. The email said it would reach the distribution warehouse by 6th May. This date has been and gone and the DFS site still says the sofa is in production.
Its been 6 months now, nothing on paper as I purchased online, and no contacts.
Where do I stand?? The reviews are simply awful, the company is in the media and i really wish I hadnt gone for it.
Any advice would be most welcome.

If you ordered online, you're able to cancel within 14 days of receipt.  I'd contact them and say you want to cancel now.  If they won't let you, you'll have to go through the routine of accepting delivery then immediately returning the sofa for a refund, which will mean costs for them and inconvenience for both of you.

They have always been in the media with awful reviews to be fair...

You asked for delivery after the end of April, so it is only 10 days later. The 6 months is irrelevant as it was entirely your suggestion to finish paying for it first.

I would suggest writing a "time is of the essence" email asking them to supply the sofa within 14 days or you would like to cancel the sale as they have failed to deliver within a suitable time frame.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
