It's not from EDF, it's a classic clone scam. EDF do issue bonds but a) they carry risk b) they are not retailed to individuals and c) they are not protected by the FSCSThese are con artists pretending to be EDF and will have your money away on their toes, you will never see it againWhere did they get your contact details? Facebook? Google Ad?Name the company5

1)This text comes from a website https://www.edfbond.com/ which was registered on 5th May 2021 by someone in Iceland.
2) It would seem to be a corporate bond. Corporate bonds are not protected under FSCS.
Perhaps the OP is on a sucker list, I cant think how else he would know about this wonderful opportunity.3 -
I received following email from EDF.
No you didn't. You received it from a scammer pretending to be EDF.
1 - EDF do not offer any retail financial services products
2 - This is not a savings account
3 - It does not have FSCS protection
4 - Whilst the bond may be genuine, the scammer is using it to pretend it is something else and your money wont end up buying this non-retail investment instrument. The scammer is using it to pretend it is something else and will run off with your money.
I always thought that Bonds carried a risk though. ?The word "bond" is massively misused and even when used correctly, it covers a range of different options.
On the surface this looks quite good as its guaranteed up to £85k .As its a scam, it doesn't look quite good.
A quick search on google finds the scam site: http://www.edfbond.com/
Some scams are elaborate but that has to be one of the worst scam websites I have seen. As usual, the domain was only registered 6th May 2021 using DNS1.NAMECHEAPHOSTING.COM out of Reykjavik with all registration details withheld.

No doubt I’m on many mug lists. I got this same message as a text!1

Got similar today. My suspicions arose because:
- First and foremost I'm suspicious of any email with a clickable link, more so in an unsolicited email and still more where it's something that involves money/investments.
- Being a computer geek I sometimes look further anyway ...
- I'm not a customer but it claimed to be an offer for "current and former customers"
- It was sent to my business email address. The business occupies a small room in my home and doesn't have a separate power-supply.
- The email was light on content but with 3 prominent "Apply now" links
- Those links went to edfpromotions2022.lt.acemlnc.com - that's a subdomain of acemlnc.com - looks dodgy. The "real" EDF could use subdomains for parts of their business in this case they could go for something like bonds.edfenergy.com, no need to use a different primary domain.
- The sender's address was info@edfpromotions2022.com rather than use the main EDF domain edfenergy.com
- It includes the sentence "...customers who have in the past expressed an interest in investing..." Well I haven't expressed an interest in investing.
- I took a relevant phrase from the email and Googled it. With widespread scams that often finds an alert but be careful, best to disregard supportive postings on Facebook or elsewhere saying something like "[the thing you just saw] is not a scam". In this instance the search led me here.

Yes, it's back again.....no doubt some will see greed overcome their caution and send money to these thieves. Money that they won't see again.....however I do hope that they aren't going to be 'compensated' for their own stupidity by the rest of us.1
