PAYE software on ipad

Hi
I need a new personal laptop but my other half wants an iPad Pro (for work).  I really only use the laptop for PAYE basic tool software, EXCEL and MS Word for invoicing, an USB port to save documents etc for accountant.

I wonder if I could do all these on a new iPad Pro and not bother with a laptop too?  Anyone uses Basic PAYE tool on their iPad Pro?

Are you talking about a basic PAYE tool or explicitly HMRC's Basic PAYE tool?

If its the later then HMRC only lists downloads for computers and not tablets. If its the former then there are a few free web based PAYE tools accredited by HMRC is your company is small enough and they can be run on any device anywhere as they use a web browser to interface.

Outside of a few somewhat niche instances iPads are not work tools, they are content consumption devices. 
I know plenty of people who have tried (or still do try) to use an iPad for work, all who do regular work (typing, emails, quotes, spreadsheets etc.) have and continued to struggle with the iPad, where as no problems with a laptop. The only two instances who use iPads successfully are in two specific applications.
