Hi
can somebody please help me? My parents recieved a phone call the other night off someone claiming to be a police officer from Chiswick police station stating my car had been reported stolen and i would be arrested when it is seen on the road. The car which he was referring to was written off back in January and which i have continued paying the personal loan on through a debt management plan. The guy told my father the exact figure left on the loan and even what the loan was for. He gave his name and a mobile number to ring him on which i tried several times. when i couldnt get hold of him my father called chiswick police station and they had no police officer of that name on any records through out the UK and they had nothing about me on file, they filed my issue and gave me a reference number. Credit resource solutions are the debt collectors my debt management plan are paying and it sounds like someone has phoned from there with my details and impersonated a police officer and revealed confidential information. Can anyone help me as i dont know what to do? !!!

You have done as much as you can by reporting it to the police.
Unless you can prove that you have incurred a loss as a result of this you cannot do anything else.0 -
dont think there is a lot you can do at the mo.
Did your insurance not cover the value of the car at write off?
Its probably just a scam to get you to pay off the finance as quick as poss, when you do speak to the guy who gave you the mobile number remember to tell him you have reported it to the police and gave the mobile number to them.0
