So me. And my wife want to put £25 a month away for our new born, I understand that Halifax offer 3.5% for a year then turns into a easy access saver. After the 12 months would I be able to open another regular saver. To get the most of the interest

Yes, but with the proviso that in 12 months time they may well have withdrawn regular saver products.0

Or you may prefer to open a stocks and shares JISA for your daughter for the long term?

Perhaps a global multi asset fund?

Agree with xylophone, since you will be saving long term, invest in a cheap global equity fund and let it do its thing.2
