Lost parcel - no one knows the sender

Usual rubbish from Yodel... they said they attempted deliver but CCTV shows no one coming onto our property within 2 hours of the time they said they did and obviously no card left. Next day they have said the parcel was delivered but again CCTV shows no one coming onto our property. The telephone number to contact the driver just constantly goes to voicemail which says its full.

Now the slightly unique problem... I don't know what this parcel is. Yodel claim to have collected the parcel from TNT/Whistl and have no record of its dimensions/weight or anything else. Whistl state the parcel was 10cm x 10cm x 10cm and unknown weight but they collected it from an American courier. Contacted the American courier who say they have no record of any parcel for us and don't use Whistl.

Add to the strangeness, the notification emails from Yodel came to an email exclusively used Amazon orders but there are no outstanding orders on my account.

I am awaiting one parcel but its certainly not 10x10x10 and is a UK manufacturer and UK retailer so the US connection doesn't add up. Awaiting the retailer to come back to me but assuming its not them. Yodel themselves just keep repeating "not our problem, contact the sender"

If no one knows who's sent the parcel I guess the chap thats stolen it or thrown it into a random garden or such just gets away with it.

Then the likely answer is the email is tagged to someone else's order.
Nobody is attempting delivery on your CCTV because its not addressed to you

Assuming you have already checked with your neighbours that it hasn't been left with them. Courier companies don't always leave a card. I got a message to say a parcel had been delivered, but I had not received a parcel, after two days I sent the firm an email, just as I sent the email, my neighbour called round with it.

Are you sure there is a parcel?  Sounds like some sort of phishing scam? I have had emails recently supposedly from DPD and Royal mail, usually asking for payment for underpaid postage or to ring a number (presumably premium rate) to confirm delivery.

You have to enter tracking code and postcode to be able to see the details and so would seem fairly coincidental that an order by someone else in the building (postcode is unique to our building) has gotten mixed up with my Amazon email address.

The setup of our building is odd and we do occasionally get parcels left in the communal hallway of the flats above us but went in their 15 minutes after the alleged delivery and nothing there.

Going to the Yodel website via Google (rather than links in the email) and using the tracking code plus our postcode brings up the tracking details. Similarly Whistl/TNT confirmed they had passed a parcel to Yodel for delivery.

It's the sender's problem, they're the ones with the contract with Yodel, so you may not be able to know its origin even if Yodel manage to ascertain it.

Oh, Yodel know who their sender is... Whistl/TNT

Whistl/TNT says their sender is Huxloe

Huxloe say I need their reference to be able to find the details they have on their sender but Whistl say they don't have it.

Did you get the notification via text message if so then it is likely a scam. I did get caught out by this as I was expecting a parcel and clicked through to the website and put in the requested information but it doesn't allow you to make any changes. To be safe I registered with CIFAS as a precaution

So finally solved the mystery and turns out no lost parcel and no scams just poor processes.

Parcel went from Amazon USA to Huxloe who originally was originally going to send via DPD, there is a DPD label on it, but they then changed to send it via Yodel using Whistl to do the transfer. They didn't update the info with Amazon so Amazon was telling me DPD had the parcel.

Yodel then was just useless with their tracking. So the parcel on Saturday was delivered at circa 3pm and Amazon emailed to say DPD had delivered it. At 5pm Yodel said the courier had left the depot and then at 7:30pm said it had been delivered. In reality DPD never had my parcel and the person that delivered the Amazon box was on behalf of Yodel... obviously a subby as no markings on the van for any brand.
