Another idea to keep the kids happy but maybe not us mums as its so messy:eek:
Set out poster paints in paper plates, strip the children down to bare minimum clothing and get them to do handprints and footprints on paper anything from wallpaper, lining or brown paper. Tags can be done the same way and but just cut around them
The grandparents will love them forever and it becomes a momento for them as well:D
Just a thought maybe do this outside the bathroom or even next to the bath for easy cleaning:rotfl:MFiT Member No 85

Hi,
I have a small suggestion to make. This might have come up in other years around Xmas time...
Xmas is coming and people are going to be buying loads of wrapping paper that can't be recycled because it has a low paper content and too much plastic and foil in it, so all that wrapping paper is going to end up in landfills which isn't good for the environment and ultimately not good for our pockets.
Could I suggest that you save money by wrapping presents in brown paper (much cheaper than wrapping paper) and string instead of the usual expensive stuff? The brown paper can be personalised with colours and drawings, or pine cones, holly and mistletoe can be attached to the string.
This would not only save money but it would also be good for the environment.
Cheers!

How about putting this on the 'green and ethical' board too? I'm definitely with you on this one
Thanks.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I do this every year! It's greener and cheaper. I personalise it by wrapping it with silver string and sticking little silver stars on it (the kind they put on kids homework - 135 for 99p from Wilkos!).0

My mum always did them in old wallpaper - one year it was the thick kitchen stuff and she was dragged from her bed at 4am because we couldn't open our presents.
She used paper from then on.:D0 -

You can get, quite cheaply, dark purple parcel paper (brown one side, purple the other.) It's biodegradable and looks gorgeous with hand drawn messages, stars and children's signatures in chunky silver pen, or silver gummed stars.0
