Husband pays all bills through his account

Hi there, I was just looking for some advice.
My husband and myself are looking at applying for a joint mortgage, we were both declared bankrupt over 6 years ago (due to a failed business) and that has all been settled now. However since then all of our bills and rent have always come out of his own account (in the rush of trying to reestablish ourselves we opened a bank account under his name only as he was the much bigger earner)
My wages have always gone into this account to aid paying our bills and we have basically used it as an unofficial joint account. I have my own account now but we have never bothered to change anything over but now it has occurred to me we really should have before now.

Will this make sense on our credit files and explain why my credit score is much lower than his when applying for a mortgage?

Even if your score is lowered by not having bills paid from your account, it would have no impact on how lenders see you.
They'll be looking at how you've managed your credit accounts, not at the pretend scores. If your credit history is now thin across all CRAs, you may want to address that.1 -

Lenders will do their own credit-scoring and that is largely unrelated to the credit-scores you are referring to.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
