It is the free to air channels we don't watch - which is the problem.
Sods law I guess. If I cancelled and we were without them, I would not be a popular person round this neck of the woods.

Still no joy with sky so I'm hoping Currys will do the deal!

Anyone know if Currys do a collect at store. If they do you could possibly use a code to buy the tele then get the sky + in store.
  • I got the SKY+ deal at Currys Lisburn for £59, didn't have to buy anything else, although I am an existing SKY customer.
  • I got sky+ today at currys for £59, was told to say i bought a tv from there a couple of weeks ago, but the woman wasnt bothered really!!

We already had sky but took up a similar offer before to get a sky+ box, we saved £105 on the price of buying just a sky+ box from sky and no multiroom cost.
We paid for the installation and when they came to install it the guy just laughed and said "great i get an hour off" and went off on his way.
Later when we took up multiroom we got another sky+ box for upstair's.
You just have to ring sky to get them to marry up the viewing card to the digi-box.
Back on topic we cancelled our sky 2 weeks ago to get virgin media
    our package
    1 V+ box
    2 v box's for bedroom's
    4mb broadband (unlimited downloads)
    XL tv package
    Setanta sports package
Homephone (unlimited weekend and local calls)
    Sky sports (all channels)
    Sky movies (all channels)
    cost's £70 a month
Don't panic Sky have called us 3 times in two weeks to try and get us back but we have had enough of sky everytime it rains here we lose our signal, if you wait they will call again.

Tried to get NTL (as it was in days of old) but "not available in your area". Odd as my neighbour has it and the cable is at my back gate (I watched it being run in) but they wouldn't budge.

Phoned the local currys, they said it was only when tv was brought - anyone had better luck there in person after being told it was only with tv purchase??

    thanks
  • I went into Currys yesterday and simply asked for the Sky plus deal. It cost me £59.

There was no mention of having to buy a TV
