Reasonable Time for Vendor to Put in an Offer

I am in Bath- but they want to move to Bristol. My buyers are FTB and want to hit the June SD deadline- unlikely, but if needs be I would go into rented if it jeopardised the sale. My sellers want to move to Bristol permanently. I did ask when I put the offer in if they would be willing to go into rented to make the sale go forward, which they declined. I said that I would like a speedy sale and they said that they would start looking straight away. Their EA said that they haven't started looking yet. But that is irrelevant- I am going to withdraw and get a no-chain place. I am not a 'flakey' buyer (as described by a previous post)- I am a considerate seller and someone who seriously wants to buy another house. I cannot do that if the sellers aren't actually doing anything to let me buy their house.

There appears to be a misunderstanding from several people on this forum. There are literally thousands of properties coming on the market in the surrounding area to me and viewings are allowed. I am committed to a purchase. I got out there, got my mortgage offer and have done checking between EAs and solicitors. The vendor's EA has been in contact with them, because they obviously want them to sell their house to me. They are frustrated too as they are not actively searching. Quite how I am being described a 'flakey' is bizarre. If you are serious about a chain, you have to respect your buyers as I have done- by finding a house and moving forward. I am now going to break the chain and go for a non-chain house. My buyers asked if I would be willing to move into rented, I would to facilitate the sale. That is consideration.
Your vendors might have a different criteria to you and might not want to go out and buy the first property they come across. They are buying a home, not a microwave.

    And respect works both ways.

Anyway, you've had your rant now. Good luck with your search.

Not a rant. And respect does need to work both ways. Respect and courtesy have been shown by my buyers and me. Shame it wasn't shown to me in this instance.
