Hi
Just bought a new humax freesat box but unfortunately new one does not come with scart socket as old one did. We have a X sender transmitter magic eye using a scart connection that plugs into old humax box that sends signal to the other tv upstairs. Could i plug this scart connection from transmitter into scart adapter if there is such a thing with red yellow and white video leads i can then plug these into the new humax box as it has these video connections. Will this work or does it have to be scart connection to get transmitter to work
many thanks

Possibly.
SCART is not a protocol as such but it can send a variety of video signals:- Component (red/yellow/white leads)
- S-video
- RGB
So it now depends on whether your X-Sender can receive component video through SCART - I don't know the specification of the model you have but that would be the next step to determine whether it is happy with component video through SCART and the resolution that the new box sends it at. If for example the new Freesat is sending 1080i/p through the component video but the X-Sender can only cope with 720p max then you might run into issues.
Finally the audio is the next thing, component video doesn't contain audio so you will need to feed that into your SCART convertor from the output of the new Freesat box - hopefully it has RCA audio connectors to do this.
Something like this with 5 RCA connectors would be needed - 3 video and 2 audio.

The freesaat is humax hdr1100 and only has 3 video leads so it won't work ? Is there any other way round it ?1

Composite is red - right audio / white - left audio / yellow - already includes the audio.
Component would be red / green / blue connectors.
If this is the case, more likely everything will work with SCART - something like the below will be ok and would be worth a try:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MainCore-SCART-Adapter-output-Switch-Black/dp/B079KQMYBS
My comment about the 720 / 1080 resolution compatibility might be an issue but for the price of the cable, probably worth a try.0 -
Nearly right , tallmansix! Itdepends upon the sex of the scart connector on the X sender! The cable/you suggest might the wrong sex at the scart end (it depends upon the sex of the connector on the Xsender and whether the existing scart cable -if one is in use- has male or female ends!)I would suggest a different item such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/KnnX-Switchable-female-adapter-connectors/dp/B0733DGQ42/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=rca+to+scart+female&qid=1620467319&sr=8-7 to cover all bases and purchase of a very cheap rca video x 2 audio cable for connection of that unit to the above (or similar ) converter. That should get it working for under a tenner.Being composite video the picture standard will not matter.

Please do not guess ann_droid.I have already pointed out that the sex of the connection might matter and flopsy has writ a female one is required. Your links are to one male SCART connector (first on your list) and the second is female the same style of connector I posted ? That one I posted has both male and female connectors so might be more useful.Costs.Generally CPC is a good place to buy especially at the quoted price but if flopsy is only buying this low cost item (and a 3 way rca lead) then there will be VAT and a handling charge too making a minimum (not including the rca lead) of £7.93. CPC quote "Please note that orders under £17.50 (ex VAT) will incur a small order handling charge of £4.99 (ex VAT)."The Amazon one is more expensive but includes VAT and free delivery thus costing £7.49 if buying more stuff from Amazon to total £20. so as well as being more flexible it might be a better buy as I guess Amazon purchases might be more common for flopsy or Prime is used!might be cheaper still from other sources.Still under a tenner but Sex does matter sometimes

Hi
Well looking at the picture of the box
AND guessing the the other was a standard scart, my two offerings were suitable.
However I do find this ......
""Could i plug this scart connection from transmitter into scart adapter if there is such a thing with red yellow and white video leads i can then plug these into the new humax box as it has these video connections.""
slightly ambiguous. Hence hedging my bets.
As to the cost, Farnell offer a range of scart stuff at varying prices and presumably quality.
Their spec/DATA sheets are something I find useful.
Your gender changer is likely to be more acceptable.

Note that both the example I gave in my 2nd reply comment have an in/out switch if that helps - I think that is the gender changer?0
