I currently have a platinum account with lloyds which I pay £15 for the privalege of an interest free overdraft and for them to phone me each month and try to sell me another credit card or loan... they just wont take no for an answer!!! Ive just opened an account with A & L but im really worried about switching because if i change my account back to the basic account then i will get charged loads in interest on the overdraft.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Why not ask Lloyds to move you to a classic account instead. That has no monthly fee.
It seems silly to transfer your whole banking because you dont want to be one version of their current account when another version exists which will suit you.
They can change you to a classic without needing a new account number or cheque book. you will get a replacement card but you can carry on using your existing one for a month after you get the new one so there is no loss of service.
If you dont like marketing calls then ask Lloyds to remove you from their marketing lists.
It is really as simple as that. You do realise that A&L (and any other bank) will market you just as much until you tell them not to.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
