i had my motability car taken away and lost my tribunal at court too. 6 months later i was rewarded it... but in the meantime i'd had to buy a car to suit my needs... i wasn't ready to give that up and risk it again. However, i now have and i simply put the money I got from selling my car into an isa... so if dwp change their minds again and i'm suddenly cured the money is there to get a vehicle. i was using all of my mobility pip allowance to pay for insurance/servicing/mot/breakdown/tires and save for a newer model anyway so i havent noticed the difference in money jsut the much newer car and less worry/hassle. There are some vehicles that don't take the whole amount too so you could have a new vehicle and still some award each month
I'd recommend motability every time IF you have the means to buy a vehicle should they take it from you.

From a no claims bonus perspective Motability sounds very similar to having a company car,  The scheme insurers will produce a letter proving claim history during scheme membership.  Most insurers will accept this and give an introductory discount.
I believe a similar document is available to those leaving Motabilty.
