Hi guys newbie here,
Quick backstoryappealed two parking charges in the building that I used to live in, had a permit but got two fines nevertheless. Doesn’t matter why, I appealed for those two fines, both were rejected. Since I was moving out and I thought that it was unfair of them to reject my appeals. I didn’t pay. Been getting emails from Trace Debt Recovery for some time, they’re sending me emails now saying that my “case” has been selected for legal action through the “county court”. I don’t live at that address and can’t access any documents that came to that address.
Will I get summoned to court? I’m a student, don’t really have money to pay £320 in fines.
They have my name, albeit written wrong, my email and my phone number. They don’t have my new address.
What do I do?
Thanks guys, any help will be appreciated.

I think Trace are doing a good impression of a long neck African mammal..
Just make sure your V5 has the correct details on it.Signature Space for Rent
Don't be confused by the low post count on this account, I've been around many years.....4 -
They are not fines.
What is the name of the parking scammers please?
Have you read the sticky thread for NEWBIES yet.
Send a data rectification notice to the DPO of the parking scammers telling them to erase your old details and replace them with your current address for service.
Send an SAR as per the NEWBIES to the parking scammers.
In both cases, include proof of ID such as a copy of the V5C if it is for the same vehicle, or two redacted utility bills or bank/card statements.
This will flush out the original NTKs and ensure all future communications come to you at your address. This is to stop a court claim going to your old address so they can get a default judgment against you that you will know nothing about.
Ignore debt collectors. Do not ignore a court claim.
What did your former lease/AST say about parking, parking scammers, permits, PCNs, paying scammers, and court claims? What it didn't say is just as important. You need to get hold of a copy if you no longer have it.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

So I email PCM LTD that my address has changed and they need to erase my old details?
I’m not sure what “SAR” stands for. I’ve not had the chance to look at the Newbies thread yet.My V5C isn’t even registered at that address which the fines were recorded to, neither is my ID. Both the V5C and ID have an even older address and aren’t the same as my current address. As far as I’m aware it didn’t say anything about the parking situation, apart from the fact that one permit was given with the lease which we were using, I was paying separately for another parking permit monthly. So we had two for the flat. I have the copy of the lease of the previous flat in my documents.
Thank you for your fruitful reply Fruitcake.0 -
Abbreviations and acronyms common to the parking forum can be found in the fifth post of the NEWBIES.
I suggest you print it off or write them out.
The DPO's details should be on the scammers Contact Us details on their website.
They are not fines. They are speculative invoices from unregulated parking scammers, aka scamvoices as I call them.
Your lease/AST would have had primacy of contract over anything an unregulated scammer says.

I don’t live at that address and can’t access any documents that came to that address.Wow you need to URGENTLY confirm your correct postal address and get them to erase the old one, or you will sleepwalk into a damaging CCJ.
They have my name, albeit written wrong, my email and my phone number. Will I get summoned to court? There is no summons but yes, PCM issue court claims and right now, if they issue a claim you will lose by default because it will go to the old address and you will have a CCJ wrecking your credit rating for six years. You MUST rectify your address by emailing the DPO of the parking firm and telling them to erase that old address!I’m a student, don’t really have money to pay £320 in fines. These are not fines. You need to understand the difference. It's just a stupid couple of invoices from a rogue industry, no doubt for normal activity like unloading your belongings when moving into student digs or something. Court is where the facts will be considered fairly and we win 99% of cases here. Judges are not stupid and this is PCM:

Outed on Watchdog as Rogue Traders. Not a firm to want near your car at home, so NEVER move to a flat that has a PPC. They target residents, not trespassers, you were their victim. But no-one here PAYS these stupid chancer charges, unless a Judge tells you to.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ps , update your driving licence and V5C asap , online if possible , otherwise the DVLA can issue real fines of up to £1000 for each offence , with real consequences if the fines are not paid , so up to 2 grand at stake , irrespective of your money troubles !!
PCm UK ltd cannot issue a summons , but they can issue civil court claims using MCOL , which they do every week !!3 -
Right, I can't find anything about a DPO on the scammers website, I've checkled both PCM LTD and Trace, if you can point out maybe what I'm exactly looking for that'd be great, as I can't see anything to do with a DPO on there.Fruitcake said:Abbreviations and acronyms common to the parking forum can be found in the fifth post of the NEWBIES.

Do I just contact them saying that my address has changed, and to remove the old address from their system?
I've not received anything on the V5C address where the car is registered, as I pick up some old mail from there.
I won't be able to attach the documents if they request as I've only just now changed the address for the driver's licence, I'm not able to change the address on the V5C until the morning.0 -
I shall be doing that now, it's been over 4 months, wonder if they've taken any "legal action", the emails from the scammers only recently started saying they'll be taking "legal action".Coupon-mad said:I don’t live at that address and can’t access any documents that came to that address.Wow you need to URGENTLY confirm your correct postal address and get them to erase the old one, or you will sleepwalk into a damaging CCJ.

I'll email the DPO as soon as I know how to get in touch with them, I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to contact the debt recovery scammers and just tell them of the address change as they've taken up the scamvoices?
The move to that flat was the biggest mistake my family has ever done.0 -
Well, I hope they haven't issued anything yet or I'm in big trouble.Redx said:Ps , update your driving licence and V5C asap , online if possible , otherwise the DVLA can issue real fines of up to £1000 for each offence , with real consequences if the fines are not paid , so up to 2 grand at stake , irrespective of your money troubles !!

I've just changed my driver's licence address, which will be followed by the V5C in the morning when the service works.1
