Car tax error

I found a hybrid BMW online which I fell in love with and paid a £500 deposit for.  I chose this car due to the style, running costs and the road tax which was listed as £10 per year which was a huge consideration.   I travelled over 400 miles to collect the car and paid the remaining balance in full. I was told by the garage that it was £420 a year road tax and not £10!  Apparantly the £420 a year road tax is due until 2024 and then it will then go on to a £10 a year rate.   I obviously expressed my anger at this but no apology or good will payment was offered.   I had travelled such a long way by train so felt I had no other option but to pay the road tax and drive the car away.  Does anyone know if I would have a claim against the company?  I have the online listing clearly stating the road tax at £10 a year.  Accordingly to the Gov.uk website it states that a company has an obligation to provide a note of any additional subscriptions or taxes to be added to the price. Can anyone give any advice about what I should do?

Given you knew about it before completing the sale, I think your chance has gone.  You should have withdrawn at that point, doing so might have got a discount, free servicing or something.  I'm afraid that buying from so far away is your problem.  It's risky, because if anything goes wrong the onus is on you to return it, even if that means a lengthy drive or transporter costs.
