Thanks for your very sensible advice everyone.
Edinvestor you asked: What are the ISA and the "URV" invested in?
Please post more info on both.
I've been in contact with Mondial in Dubai and have managed to get a fund valuation online of my 'Universal Retirement Programme', this what I have paid in -
£150, may 95 - jan 97 - £3150
£75, feb 97 - may 2003 - £5700
£50, june 03 - june 05 - £1250
= @ £10,100
This is (fund value) what I got from the Financial Partners website (https://www.financial-partners.biz) -
Universal Retirement Programme Fund value - GBP 7466 or USD 13,112
This is a mail from someone at Mondial -
"Hello Alex, I have been asked to contact you in relation to your investment with Hansard. The first thing I have noticed is that the Helicon valuation is $, which for you living in UK does not mean very much so I have asked our Helicon team to change it. I note that you commenced with an investment of GBP150, and reduced it to GBP75, and more recently to GBP50. Hansard have recently raised the minimum investment to GBP100, but they are investing your GBP50 every month, which is unusual, so we will not query that. You are invested 100% into Mondial Sterling Growth, which is a steady
cautious sterling fund with around 40% of its assets based world wide, and
60% in UK. If you are going to retire to UK then I would recommend a
sterling equity fund. Please email me any questions/ concerns you may have."
So... If you're still reading, thanks very much. What does it all mean, should I keep investing/cash it, i'm not really sufficiently knowledgable about this kind of investment to make an informed decision. I'm hoping to speak to the chap that sent the e-mail when he's in the country from Dubai on Monday evening to see what he has to say.
Any advice would much be appreciated from you chaps though.
kind regards
Alex0
