waiting to hear from HR on Friday

SO I thought if I post on this new page, the old one will fall off along the line, just incase there were clues as to who we were and it was more obvious than I thought.
As always very good sensbile advice from you all.
We are now just waiting for HR to contact Mr Frog on Friday. They didn't say how? Email? Letter? Phone call? I don't know.
I will do just as you said.

Well the new thread worked a treat as I can't even find the other one so I can't catch up.  :D  Hope the meeting went ok, fingers crossed contact on Friday is in writing, much less stressful.

Yes I screwed it up with my webbed fingers when I tried to edit ;) The clever folks in admin thought it was best deleted in case I'd given away info that made us recognisable and it may halm the case.
The meeting consisted of HR saying they couldn't give Mr Frog the allowances that the OH said he needed. They said we would hear on Friday what the outcome is. So we are sitting tight ;)

Email says they are dismissing him on  health grounds. Giving him 12 weeks notice. Nothing about pay other than he will get final day of employment 27th July, final pay packet in August 6th, a week later. How do I reply to this? I thought they would pay him all in one go, and then he could start to look for another job. Letter says he will remian in their employment for another 12 weeks so that would stop him getting the other part time job he had in mind. There has actually been no mention of money as such, and there is no money paid into the bank today?

I do not remember enough of the previous thread to comment in detail.

By staying employed for the 12 weeks of his notice period, he builds up holiday - but perhaps they will say he should take it during that notice period.

Is there a clause in his contract which prevents his working elsewhere?  Is the work for a competitor?

It would be usual to pay him during his notice period at the same time as would be usual, monthly or weekly.  The final payment should include any accrued holiday which has not been taken (as long as they didn't tell him to take the holiday).

Not for a competitor no, totally different type of driving. There is no clause I don't think but is that allowed? Is he allowed to be paid by one comany while working for another then?

If there isn't, there's no reason he can't start the new job before he finishes the old, provided his Fit Note allows it (I think he has one at the moment, not quite sure?)

And I meant to add, there is never anything to stop someone looking for alternative work while still employed.  We all do that whenever we are thinking of leaving one employment.

As they have now given notice, he should be looking for alternative work and potential employers could contact his current one.

Hi, if he is not required to come to work during the notice period he could potentially start working elsewhere almost immediately. However, this could have an impact on tax (having 2 jobs at the same time).
The only other way is to negotiate early termination with corresponding payment in lieu of notice. Again, could impact tax as will be receiving 12 weeks worth of pay in one month, an equivalent of higher annual salary.
