Personal Injury Claim - where to start?!

Hi, I need to make a claim for personal injury, and I don't really know where to start. I know there are lots of "no win no fee" services out there but don't want to get ripped off. The situation is that I broke my shoulder when I slipped and fell in a poorly maintained area where my shop used to be. The landlord's response was appalling, and was the final straw for me, so I have now moved to a new premises and would like to make a claim, now that I don't have to see them regularly!

The first port of call, given the accident isn't motor vehicle related, is to check if your home insurance or any business insurance includes cover for personal injury claims and therefore avoiding the need to enter into a conditional funding agreement (aka no win no fee). If not then its simply a case of choosing an appropriate provider.
No win, no fee = Yes win, significant fee - exactly what the fee is does vary by solicitors and you need to understand exactly what you'll be giving up of your compensation if you win. Then there is a certain balancing act between how much you think the fee will motivate them to do a good job -v- if its a tiny fee are they just going to want to drive volume as a 1% fee against £5,000 or £6,000 makes no difference to them1
