    You need to resolve this eventually, because at some point you'll presumably want to move out and retrieve your deposit from whichever scheme it is in?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Does your property fall under Selective licensing. May be worth checking local authority site to see if it requires a licence. If it does contact the Council, they will have details if it is licensed.   If property isn't licensed but requires one, they can look into obtaining the landlords details.
