Internet Connection for Lap top

I recently bought a very cheap secondhand lap top it doesnt have anything to connect to the net what is the cheapest way to convert it for use please?

It doesnt have any type of modem. I normally use dial up rather than broad band on my old desktop computer0

ok, what model laptop is it? Does the laptop have a pcmcia slot? (a slot about 2½" long x ¼" deep)0

it is a IBM think pad my daughter has it so Im not 100% sure about slot I have a similar one which does but i have a wirless router which I connect to0

If it does have a USB port, then you can connect to the wireless router using the device linked above for the wireless method.
There is no need for a modem in the laptop, if you are connected through your router to the net, you can just use a wireless adaptor0
