Belgium parking ticket

Hi there I have received quite a few parking tickets from belgium . Which I ignored as my car as never been to Belgium or even out of the country. The company is EPC Ltd in London.
I have been on to the police they say if they have photo evidence not to worry. I've been on to DVLA
They didn't seem to want to know. Now they have sent letters before Debt Collection  what do I do now and how can I prove my car was in the UK in these dates  regards Elaine

EPC and the so called debt collection notices are powerless.
However if they have incorrect data on you ie the vehicle was never in Belguim and you don't like waffles or chips with mayo and you dont really care for either Wallonia or Flanders
then you could have a complaint against them under GDPR.
Send them a data rectification notice and tell them that if they do not rectify the data you will consider taking action against them

As you can guess, EPC are harmless, if you take the letters as the empty threats that they are, and there is some scope for getting back at them with GDPR / having some fun.
There is a serious side in that allot of people fall victim to this, and if i was in your situation i would play with them for a while then go for the GDPR sting against them
, something like this, but with more squirrels:
    Dear EPC re charge noticeXXXX
To the best of my knowledge the vehicle in question has never been in Belgium, and your data is incorrect.
under the terms of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) you are required by law to have up to date information on myself .
this is a data rectification notice informing you that you must cease contacting me on this matter.
the only way the vehicle could have travelled to Belgium would be if the vehicle was dismantled by Quantum Squirrels from the planet Zog teleported bit by bit to Belgium, re-assembled and then the whole process reversed before the squirrels returned to Zog

Surely the onus is on them to prove your car was there- not you.  If they provided photos then it is likely your plates were/ are cloned then you can file a police report. Furnish them with the crime reference number and that should be the end to it.

Yeh very likely your plates have been copied as in a foreign country they will not be able to trace it, making it easy and no risk to the Dodgy scumbag that did it. Fortunately for you though they won't be able to provide any evidence whatsoever so I'd say you're safe. Ask them for evidence and unless they can produce a quantum squirrel you're in the clear.

You should have an alibi be it a digital footprint (such as using your bank card or whatever on them dates) not that you are required to disclose it to them.

You do not need to prove anything, tht is for your accuser to do.  Complain to Trading Standards about EPC..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Stick on a quick Action Fraud report and advise them to deal and liaise only with the investigators fron thereon I accordance with the DPA using the reference number you have supplied. You can no longer talk about it as it is a live slowtime criminal investigation and as a witness you are only talking to the investigation team.

EPC are well covered here already and Post four of the Newbies Sticky applies 100% - Did you somehow not see all the other threads on them?

Belgium got shot of this the moment they sold it-on to EPC for a pittance and have absolutely nothing to do with it now.
