This messes with all my retirement projections but, more importantly, influences the whole investment climate, so potentially bad for everybody!
Below $127 and no sign of a floor.

People investing in Apple have made tonnes in recent years with valuations getting extremely expensive.ZingPowZing said:This messes with all my retirement projections but, more importantly, influences the whole investment climate, so potentially bad for everybody!

History would suggest a sell off (and a sizable one of that) at some point would be more normal outcome than consistent outperformance.0 -
Are you on a fishing trip tonight ?0

Your retirement projections required market outperformance by a single stock? That’s er, unconventional. How much of your pot is in it, and what growth rate were you projecting?ZingPowZing said:This messes with all my retirement projections but, more importantly, influences the whole investment climate, so potentially bad for everybody!

I imagine there is still quite a bit of falling to do yet in the tech sector.0

Aapl is 30% of my portfolio - even less if I include my £ assets outside the stock market.0

Why would Apple keep going up? Over the last 5 years their revenue and profits have gone up around 50% in total so you might expect under normal conditions their share price go up by around the same amount. The main reason it has gone up more is people predicting a higher future growth rate. Maybe people have now decided that isn't going to happen - or maybe this is just a lull before another big rise.
5 years ago Apple was trading at a PE of about 12. Its possible they could return back to that level so you could be looking at a 50%+ drop in the share price from here.1 -
That is very, very bold. Some people would go so far as to call it reckless. Hopefully you’ve been in it for a while and have enjoyed the ride up.ZingPowZing said:Aapl is 30% of my portfolio - even less if I include my £ assets outside the stock market.2 -
