Happy Tuesday MSEers!
Back at work since yesterday and having had a week's rest has definitely helped a lot, I am so much more productive again, feels good. Think there was probably a bit of burnout mixed in with that illness, and the 16 hours sleep a day I had most days last week have helped me regain my energy levels haha. Back is completely back to normal too which is great.
I was appointed the Data Protection Officer in my work yesterday which is a bit exciting (lol). Have enrolled in a course to brush up on my skills for that, am genuinely looking forward to doing some learning etc - was a bit stuck in a rut in work and this is a welcome new string to my bow. No pay rise for this at the moment (it's a small business and we all wear many hats), but hopefully something to discuss in my next performance review.
Money-wise there isn't much to report. NSD yesterday as expected, and today will be too. Payday tomorrow and I've ordered a Tesco shop with all the basics for the month. I find it really helps to stock up on all the heavy items like milk, potatoes and cans at the start of the month - then I don't have to carry home as much stuff for the rest of the month, which increases the likelihood of me going to Aldi haha.
Really happy that we have managed to stay under £300 for groceries this month and didn't get a single takeaway. That's a huge shift from where we were at the last few months. Still have enough in for our planned dinners for the next few nights too, just looking a bit thin on the ground in terms of milk and fresh fruit. But we made it.Starting debt 2018: £26,000

Just went through the monthly Tesco stock up shop I have on order for tomorrow and forced myself to remove unnecessary treats and also anything that I can get cheaper in Aldi. £143 shop became £80, although I'll still have to go to Aldi for some basics so will be a bit more. But should still be quite a good saving and help get us on track for another £300 grocery budget month.
Being vegan, there are a few things that Aldi don't have, so it'll always be a bit of a hybrid thing, but definitely shouldn't be buying things that I can get like for like at Aldi for cheaper for the sake of convenience.

Good morning! Wednesday already!
It's payday today so I will update YNAB in a bit - no payments off debt yet - I usually do that once OH has paid me and I know exactly what I've got in all accounts, he doesn't get paid until Friday.
Really annoyed this morning - we bought a brand new washing machine 6 weeks ago to replace a 20 year old one that kept having leaking issues - thinking "let's just bite the bullet and get a new appliance". Now guess what, the new machine has only started leaking! Called the manufacturer and it isn't covered by the 1 year warranty as it's a rubber seal on the door, fuming! I'll see if I can speak to someone at the retailer and get it sorted. If not, I may buy the £6/month full guarantee thing and have it addressed that way. I don't really know what to do, will brood on it a bit.
It doesn't help that all the washing baskets are overflowing because DS1 has a bedwetting issue (heredetary) and all I've done for a week now is wash 3 loads of bedding a day - we're all running out of clothes. Argh, adulting!
On a positive note, had a glut of PA surveys this morning after a long dry spell. A few interactive bits which always pay better, so once I've taken part in a Zoom user group at lunch time, I should have £20 pending on there, happy days!Starting debt 2018: £26,000

You should be coveredr, look on Mse for SAD FART not being rude 😂 but it’s something to do with a product being fit for purpose and lasting a reasonable time. Six weeks it defo not a reasonable time. Your contract it with who you bought it from so you shoukd contact them. Typical for it to happen when the washing is piling up 🤦🏽♀️ Well done on the surveys 👏5

Thanks @Parkyp I very rarely buy expensive new things so I have no idea about this kind of stuff haha. I'll give them a ring asap.Starting debt 2018: £26,000

Yeah, I agree, 6 weeks is completely unreasonable!
Nice about PA, I've had the dry spell for weeks, hopefully mine picks up soon.

Hi @Debt_Me_Out_Of_Here - I've been reading your diary, enjoyed it and have subscribed. 😃
I agree with @Parkyp though - you should get back to the retailer re your washing machine - it's their responsibility. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
