Considering a property that's currently tenanted

    There is no reason to not consider a property simply because there are tenants, especially as the OP is aware of the potential pit-falls.

    The OP may discount the property for any number of other reasons once they view.

    The OP may find the tenants share their plans and are moving on in any case.  It is not as though the tenants are being obstructive as they are allowing viewings.

    My home had tenants / family in, it had been a rental for over a decade and advertised as BTL or family. While viewing I asked what their plans were if I was to make an offer and have it accepted. The response I received was believable and the only hic up was Covid otherwise my purchase would have gone through sooner.

    It's better to hear from the tenants than something the EA says; the former is believable.
    Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
