Morning all chilly but sunny here DH has taken the dog out and I am sitting quietly with a cuppa we will be going back to the small house today although its starting to feel bigger as we are emptying it out . I need to stop at DD1's on the way home as she needs washing up liquid and some lady monthly bits DH works for a company that makes soap powder and everything else so we get it all very cheaply from the staff shop (the kids get it free) We have a weather warning in place for tonight and tomorrow morning so will see if that comes to fruition.

Morning, hugs if you need one. Gers and her Mum special hugs. I understand how you feel, you are standing on the edge of a precipice not sure which way things will go. Take care.
Its a dull morning here and a cold breeze. rain is forecast for later. Thankfully I washed at the weekend, so its all done out of the way. My cleaner would usually be here today. She travelled down to see her grandchildren, so will be here tomorrow.
No plans for the day. We have appointments to get our eyes tested tomorrow, only a year overdue. I guess it will mean new glasses for both of us.
Yesterdays lamb was delicious, I cooked it very slowly for 1 3/4 hours.......just about fell off the bone. So supper tonight is cold lamb, jacket spuds and salad. possibly ginger sponge pudding for dessert.10 -
Morning all, the rain has just started here, at least we did the dogwalk and kept dry. I had a day to myself yesterday as DH went to help DS2 with the shed he's making from scratch.I'll get told off if I call it a shed, it's a garden room
We had the rest of the curry from Saturday , so no cooking from me needed, I think we'll have pizzas tonight.DH likes the pizza express ones- so do I but only when they're on special offer like this week!
I did some stamping on some watercolour backgrounds I'd previously painted to make some cards. It's a longer process than using a backing paper - waiting a day for the paint to dry before you can stamp the images on, then I highlighted some flowers with paint pens I bought the DGC so I felt quite creativeand pleased with the end result.
Snoozer, so glad Steve is feeling a bit better.Gers you and DM are in my thoughts, being in limbo really but I hope you have a calm day xI think it'll be a pottering day here, I don't really fancy going out if it's going to chuck it down!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all.
Gers, it must feel like being in limbo. All our love and good wishes are wrapping you both round like a warm blanket.
My baby is 49 today. Don't know where the years have gone. It's strange, but when I look at my sons I don't see middle aged men, I see smiley babies and mischievous children.
Hester, glad you had a nice surprise yesterday.
snoozer, very glad that Steve seems a bit better today.
Sorry, but that is where my memory stops. No special plans for today. It's chilly here and the weather forecast is not encouraging. The perfect excuse for staying indoors and snuggling down with a good book.
My favourite sort of day.
Enjoy whatever you are doing. It's not like a bank holiday somehow.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but rain and storms due later I have a wash on the go and will hang it out but will grab it in before the rain starts (hopefully) . Yesterday rained off and on all day and we had huge hail stones frequently, later on sounds the same.
We are going to get the dogs out before the rain starts today and then snuggle down in front of the fire, Im sure we have never had it on this late into the year before.
Im going to do that feta and tomato pasta thing for dinner, you simply put cherry tomatoes and a block of feta with some oil and herbs in a roasting dish and put in the oven, once its cooked you stir it together and add it to some cooked pasta, it sounds and looks delicious, I shall report back !
Gers I am thinking of you and dear mum, I hope she has a settled day xxx
Snoozer hopefully the antibiotics have started working xx
Nels hope your poor hands are a bit better xx
Have good days all xx15 -
Hello all, the weather is awful here and it started late last night, so no gardening for me today. I'm glad really as I ache all over, serves me right for doing too much and not listening to my body. I did more digging out yesterday but the roots are giving me some trouble and are really stubborn. I had to chop them off before I can try to move the stump, even then it's like a fight to the death ! I did find some new shrub seedlings though and I have planted them in a container until I decide where to put them. I love free plants and also the shrub babies get to live on !Today I want to make some cake, one for us and one for Dad. They will be banana cakes as I found a large bag of odd bananas in the freezer ( I always freeze the one that gets forgotten in the fruit bowl 🍌) I need to clean out the fridge too as I have a sm shop coming tomorrow.Later I think I shall soak my bones in the bath and hope that will ease my back and right knee before bedtime.Right I'd better make a start, those cakes won't make themselves. All welcome for a virtual slice 🍰Gers I hope today is another peaceful and uneventful day for you both. I shall be thinking of you.Snoozer I'm glad Steve is improving now, Enjoy your visit.Hello to all the MIA's and anyone who just reads along. Hope you are all well.Hugs to all the poorly ones, their carers and anyone struggling at the moment.Take care all, stay safe in the storm.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Hello everyone, typical bank holiday weather here. I wasn't going aby where but feel sorry for those who were.
Gers we are all surrounding you with loving thoughts, such a hard time for you. I hope your DM has a peaceful day.
Snoozer, good news and Hester I'm glad you had a good surprise.
Yesterday I managed to get the grass cut, soon I may be able to hang the washing out but not yet. Still, progress.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -
Afternoon everyone
I've done some tidying this morning and been down to sort something on dad's laptop. Then I cut the grass at the front - it was chilly!
I've got the afternoon to myself so I'm going to read some more of yesterday's Sunday Times and perhaps start a new book. Little one will come up about 4pm for a couple of hours.
Hope everyone has a good day - love to Gers and her mum12 -
Good morning all, I have been up since 04:00, woke with acid reflux, caught up with reading newspapers and periodicals and then watched some bits and pieces on you tube, ready to sleep now, but will try and tough it out and have a reasonably early night tonight.
Thinking of Gers and DM, pleased that Steve is a little better Snoozer.
I have informed OH that we are eating main meal at lunchtime for the next few days, he is not too keen, but will get himself something else later if he makes other plans, need to try and see GP about my digestive system, but eating at 7pm definitely does not work for me.
Off for a shower, hopefully it will make me feel more human, making marmalade (from a tin) and doing my meds is on the cards for today, main meal will be HM mini quiches and salad, perhaps with a few chips to warm us up.
Stay dry and away from nasty storms if you can.
Oh dear I see that I forgot to post this earlier, I blame the lack of sleep. lolThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Maddie, I also suffer from Acid reflux, We never eat later then 5.30pm. If I eat later bingo.........9
