Hi Everyone. I hope you don't think this is a silly question. I am going through my late father's garage and have a lot of car parts which my father bought ( he used to buy and sell ) the car parts are multiparts and vanfit and are all brand new. I have no idea about car parts. I have tried to track some details down but the numbers I have are either VCF or VEM the parts are engine mountings, headlamps and various others. I cannot find them anywhere. I don't want to give them away it would be nice to sell and make some money for my father's grandchildren as I know that's what he would have wanted. Can anyone point in any direction so I can trace the parts. Thanking you for your time

If the parts are for older commercial vehicles, you may get a pleasant surprise at sale prices.

    Hi Everyone.

Thank you for your kind comments. These are some of the items I have don't know what they are other than what is on the cover. If I put them on ebay with just pictures would someone still buy them ? Cheers

Seeing as they are all the same brand why not try contacting the company to see if they have the old references still?

I presume all the pics of a driveshaft are the same one?
    So
    VSD0066 - driveshaft
VCK1496 - clutch and slave cylinder
    VFB1040 - belts
    VEM0043 - Nissan engine mount
    VSS1686 - GM (Vauxhall/Opel) bottom arm.

There is a "Mutliparts" automotive parts supplier on the web - multipartseurope.com - but the part numbers don't hook up.

A little more digging suggests that the Multipart in question used to be the suppliers to LDV vans (remember them?), and seem to have left the aftermarket car parts industry now -  https://multipart.msys-epc.com/ - even though their parent is one of India's largest car-parts suppliers - https://www.tvsscs.com/automotive/

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multipart_Solutions

None of the part numbers come up with anything on a quick google...

Unless you can identify what they're actually for, I think you're going to be struggling to shift them.

Somehow I didn't think it would be that easy, but you have all given me more information than I did have from the start so I thank you for that.  All the best

Why not list the parts on an online auction site?  It costs nothing to list at 99p no reserve.  Just make the listing honest, include the photo and put all the text from the labels into the listing and someone might bid.  It is quite possible that if someone wants / needs these parts for a classic car, they'll know the codes etc and search for that code.

In a similar way, I am currently looking for a specific, but discontinued bath panel.  I know the part number and all the descriptive text and look weekly for any listing with the item.  If I had a classic car, I think I'd be the same.  In fact, you are probably better with the classis car parts as there may be a dealer linked to an owners club that will buy them up.

I would say without a catalogue you are not likely to find out what they fit or cross reference to a major brand so you are limited to selling them as a job lot to someone who may be able to cross reference the part numbers.  Probably get not a lot of money for what is worth a fair bit retail. How quickly do you want to clear them and how much time do you want to spend doing it ?
