O/S Daily Sunday 2 May 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Gers - thinking of you and your mum x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Bright sunny start to the day here, although looks like we've had a frost too.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm enjoying my first cuppa and a brekkie bar whilst on here. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night turkey curry - use up item from the freezer. Today lunch will be roast chicken etc.
Quiet day planned, visited the permitted yesterday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all we are at the big house till Monday DH sorted the garage and we put loads of stuff in the loft but there is more to go as well as DS stuff from when he was in the army he needs to sort . I managed to sort some of the kitchen I don't think its right yet but its workable the floors got a good wash and I managed to breathe mop at the last knockings so a new one ordered for delivery today.Last night was a turkish takeaway really nice and not greasy and just the right size portion. Dinner today is Roast pork and trimmings I need to go to Lidl when it opens as we have no veg or sandwich fillers .Todays task will be the shower doors i need to give them a good vinegar as they haven't been done for a while.
Right onwards n up wards Hugs to all the poorlies those looking after them and those with worries Have a good day stay safe xSlava Ukraini12 -
Bellabella, we use one of those cordless window squeeges after we shower and it has made such a difference to thee limescale marks on the glass. I used to have to use limescale remover every week to get them clean, now it's not needed at all.
Unfortunately, Steve seems to have become worse overnight and they changed his antibiotics at 5 am. Apparently he's booked for a full body scan today to see if they can pinpoint the source of the infection. I will ring in a little while to book my appointment to visit him.
Apart from that not a lot is going on.
Gers, thinking of you and your mum.14 -
Morning all just popping back in let snoozer know I'm thinking of her and Steve and hope that they find the source of infection and he improves soon
Been thinking of Gers and mum overnight
Lovely bright start this morning but rain forecast it must be a Bank Holiday
DGS birthday today we haven't seen them in nearly a year Am@z*n has been a god send especially as I had been shielding
Have a good Sunday all
Hugs

Morning everyone
Nice sunny morning here, but forecast showers later. I have a towel load in the machine so I'll get those out on the line before I go down to mam and dad's house.
Hoping to get the grass cut at the front of the house this afternoon and perhaps some tidying at the back. Just managed to build sandcastles yesterday afternoon - no tidying!
Hope everyone has a good day
Love to you and your mum Gers13 -
Morning All
It was lovely and sunny when I got up but it's clouded over now, still the bedding can stay on the line for now, it might brighten up.
I had a lovely afternoon with the DGC although they had been at their Mums the night before so were very tired and DGD was very cheeky which DS1 says often happens, after a trip to her room to think about the way she acted she was a lot better (she's 9). Sometimes her attitude leaves a lot to be desired! No trampolining as it was too wet - maybe next time!
DD and the little one coming later after the little one's football group - can't wait to hear how that went, she's a bit young but loves running about so she should have had fun. I'm sure we'll go for a walk later to inspect the drains here and see how many stones and twigs she can collect.
Sorry to hear Steve isn't too well snoozer, hope he gets the right medication very soon.
Hugs to you Gers, hope you've had an uneventful night.
Enjoy Sunday, take care. XX15 -
Good morning, dry and bright here, for now, at any rate.
We didn't go out yesterday with Ds and fam, so no fish and chips! They asked if we could meet up today instead, at a country park, they are looking after another family member's dog, so thought that would be better for the dog than the seaside.
Snoozer we use a window vac thing on our shower doors, much better than a normal squeegee. Sorry to hear Steve is no better.
Thinking of Gers and her mum, and others who are poorly.
Take care folks.16 -
Good morning all. The sun's shining here but for how long?
I have a Zoom exercise class at 10am, the last in a programme of 6, spread over 6 weeks so I'll be glad when that's over. I would like to go back to Zumba Gold when it restarts but not quite sure about indoor exercise with other people just yet.
Yesterday I met with a few friends in someone's garden and we played some music and ate cake; all good.
We didn't take any meat out of the freezer last night so DH has found a couple of lamb steaks that will thaw out in time to cook this evening, along with roast potatoes etc.
My thoughts today are with the lovely Gers and her mother. Also Snoozer and Steve; I do hope the hospital can get on top of what's causing his infection and get it under control.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Morning folks. I was merrily rambling on, as I do, when my screen took it upon itself to refresh and lost it all! Grr! GERS I hope you managed to have some sleep after your post in the early hours. I've been thinking of you at what is such a sad time x
Today is beautiful (the calm before tomorrow's storms) The laundry basket has been emptied and the wm is doing its thing.and that lot can be pegged out shortly. I unearthed some sliced beef in gravy when tidying the freezers so that will be lunch with an assortment of veg and the compulsory Yorks puds.
POLL if you are reading along thanks for the Voltarol info. I had already bought the muscle rub when I read your post but after just a day I think my arm is less painful. It sounds just like yours - at best upper arm and shoulder and at worst from shoulder right down to the fingers.(My leg problem is a different story, that's vascular and not a lot helps that)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. SNOOZER hope the change of antibiotic helps Steve fight off the infection. Thinking of GERS, DUMPLING, NAN, MARIE, NELS and any other poorly I have missed. Take care all xx
