What it removes is the incentive for minimum wage employers to hire younger people because they are cheaper.  I have no idea if that incentive and those jobs were significant or not.
That and it becomes more expensive to recruit young people into some roles that require specialist training, which we do on the job and requires a lot of expense in terms of staff being taken off something else.

When we start recruiting, these specific roles are likely to be offshored for new hires due to these costs, which may have a minor (but sizeable if everyone does it) effect on the overall economy.

Minimum wage certainly had an effect on the job market in the past.  My sister-in-law was trying to get back into retail after a break and was actually told by friend who worked in retail management that school leavers were preferred because they were cheaper.
    Over time they'll age though.
…….and over time they should be worth more to the business.
