Hey guys,
A few questions for those of you with octopus smart meters.
How long once you had your smart meters fitted did it take for both the elec and gas to appear on the IHD
When did your meters start uploading 30min readings to octopus. They say allow 2 weeks, but how long does it actually take?
From fitting, how long did it take you to be moved onto agile/go/go faster.
Only asking as I had my SMETS1 meters upgraded to smets2 on Thursday, meters recognised on website later on same day. Elec meter readings now available today, but gas not on website nor on IHD yet.
All info much appreciated!

Mine took 10 days to start uploading readings for elec, IHD started working within hours of installation for elec, don't have gas. Other than one half hour gap on the first day, I had no issues with missing data. I was able to sign up to Agile effective 2 days after the half hour readings started coming through (I could have done it a day earlier, but wanted to verify I had a complete day of HH reads before taking the plunge). Have just moved from Agile to Go Faster. Got nowhere trying to do so by email, but as is typical a Twitter DM got me the survey within the hour and I was accepted for my chosen GF tariff the following day.

I do so much like balance of experiences/opinions within forum discussions, Smart Meter installed 22 March, awaiting another engineer visit as Octopus have not been able to connect to it ....E.ON Smart Van rolled in installed EDMI Standard 420,1

For context, mine was installed by Octopus Energy Services, and they put in a Kaifa MA120.Hope you get yours sorted soon, it's super frustrating to have to wait so long!

Just an update,
Meter installed Thursday
Ihd working for electricity instantly, not for gas
Meters identified on octopus website Thursday afternoon
30min data available on octopus website Saturday
Octopus go invite available Sat pm
So currently on octopus go, have completed the survey for go faster 5h from 8.30, will wait and see how long that takes.
Gas smart meter still not connected either to ihd or website.
Think go faster is a no brained currently with octopus, as the tracker/agile prices are pretty high and the peak go prices are around 14p.1 -

Please can I ask what the survey is that you need to fill out?
I'm waiting for EDF to install our smart meter later this month, but the Octopus Go Faster tariff is of great interest to me.
We use 67% of our current electricity (14,000 kWh) on Eco 7, so the 5 hour Go Faster tariff would be great for us.
Does the survey determine if they will give you access to the 5 hour Go Faster tariff? Do you need an electric vehicle to qualify?0 -
lohr500 said:Please can I ask what the survey is that you need to fill out?Octopus ask customers to fill out a survey prior to offering a Go Faster tariff, it's pretty basic - asking about EV/battery/other high load devices you intend to connect, and your preference for the time slot and duration. They are presumably trying to keep things in balance so that all customers aren't draining the supply at the same time.I have nothing other than electric heating and recently switched over. There is no requirement to have any specific kit.

once your smart meters are working with edf you can switch directly to octopus go and then on to go faster once you’re on go,1 -
I had my smart meter fitted on November 1st this year and although electricity readings started appearing within a few days I'm still waiting for any gas readings other than a few sporadic readings for a couple of days. I've sent numerous emails to various octopus addresses including one this morning to a dedicated smart team member and made about half dozen phone calls but no luck as yet!0
