Hi,
Wonder if anyone can help or advise please - I opened a M&S credit card after reading about a !40 cash back offer on the MSE site.
Wonder if anyone can help or advise please - I opened a M&S credit card after reading about a !40 cash back offer on the MSE site.
I fulfilled the cash back criteria to receive the £40, but only received £25 cash back. When I spoke with M&S they did not know of this offer and advised the only applicable offer was for £25.
The call handler checked google upon my suggestion- saw the £40 deal on the MSE site, but advised this was just a “hack” and it didn’t apply.

I’m really confused and she didn’t explain what she meant by “hack” despite me asking - I wasn’t happy with the explanation or outcome and would be grateful for any clarity.
Thank you

It's not £40 cashback. The offer that MSE talked about was £40 in cashback and vouchersApply for card by midnight 19th March and spend £100 in 90 days = £25 cashbackSign up for paperless statements by 23/4/21 and you get 1000 points worth £10 in vouchersSpend in store at M&S and if you use the coupon you are sent you get 500 more points worth £5 in vouchers= £40 in cashback and vouchers

Hi, I also took out this credit card with this offer and have met all the criteria stated by Martin. However when I queried where my rewards were they replied that I am not entitled to the £25 reward as I didn’t sign up for the card through the MSE or Moneysupermarket website. I did email the site but got a return email stating they can’t reply due to the vast numbers they receive which I fully understand. I then found this forum and registered to see if anyone else had the same problem or could verify that this is the case. M&S say I will get the 1000 points for going paperless but nothing else.

If you didn't sign up via MSE (as in clicked the link on the email / site and immediately apply) then you don't qualify. The referral links are tracked so they know how you signed up, in your case the system would record you applied in another way (or left the M&S site and came back)
The MSE link looks like this: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/021b05f2
i.e. it will redirect you to whatever site that code relates to
In this case if you follow the link
https://bank.marksandspencer.com/credit-card/shopping-plus-offer/exclusive-credit-card-offer/?cid=HBEU:ki:A0:CC:01:1804:183:AcquisitionStandardList
I don't understand modern site coding but that information in the link tells them how I got there and takes you to the offer with £25
If you go direct to https://bank.marksandspencer.com/credit-card/shopping-plus-offer/ there is no mention of cashback0
