Hi,
I have been issued a PCN as keeper of the vehicle.
A carefully worded appeal pointed out that a ticket was purchased and that there was possibly an issue with the PDT machine as the incident took place on the day clocks moved.
The appeal was rejected.
I want to get ahead with my statement, etc. which is why I am starting this thread.
Within the appeal it said:
The system has been checked and there is no parking session registered to your vehicles registration number at all on the day in question. It is the drivers responsibility to ensure a full and accurate registration number is entered into the pay and display machine, The entered details are shown on the screen the driver then has the option to edit or when happy with the details press green to validate and proceed to payment"
On the day in question there was no valid ticket registered to your vehicle to cover your whole stay. As this is an ANPR car park. A ticket must be purchased as soon as you enter the car park. Your vehicles full/correct registration number must be entered into the machine when purchasing a ticket so your stay can be authorised. Signage is clearly displayed around the car park which displays the terms and conditions of parking. I can confirm that the PCN was correctly issued, therefore we are unable to cancel the Parking Charge Notice.
The emboldment and underlining above is my own. I think this implies that there is a record of a ticket being purchased, but that the VRN was not correct.
Anyway, I completed an SAR and the company sent an image of the PDT with the details of the VRN crossed out. I am going to repeat the SAR with the wording from the NEWBIES thread.
The ticket purchased by the driver is stored with the PCN as part of my evidence.
Do I just wait now?
Thanks

Did they offer a lower sum to settle it, due to the probable keying erroir that they appear to be trying to hide from you?
I see this is Parallel Parking Ltd as per your thread title. IPC firm so no apeal will work, so you will end up ignoring the scam unless they try a court claim in the end.Anyway, I completed an SAR and the company sent an image of the PDT with the details of the VRN crossed out.You mean they FULLY redacted every VRN on the machine log? So you can't see if there was a small error?
Ask them directly if this is a keying error and if so, a minor one or a major one, and why are they not offering a lower sum to settle and taking into account the clear steer of the MHCLG in the new Code of Practice they will have to abide by when the IPC one is kicked into touch shortly.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi @Coupon-mad.
They offered to extend the time for a reduced payment to be made, so not technically a lower sum.
With regards to the SAR, they only sent a single photo capture of the PDT, and the VRN was crossed out manually (the image was edited so VRN is not visible).
No other data from the PDT was provided.
To ask them directly, would I word as follows:
Dear ?
As I have the ticket for the day in question, and can therefore prove that a ticket was purchased for the day and time in question, I would like to know whether the PCN has been issued due to a keying in error.
If so, why are you not offering a lower sum to settle?
I'm not sure what you mean by this bit:
'clear steer of the MHCLG in the new Code of Practice they will have to abide by when the IPC one is kicked into touch shortly'
so I'm unsure how to add this to the letter.0 -

These machines are far from foolproof. rm perfect. If you can persuade a judge that, OTBOP, one was faulty, you are home and dry.
Have you complained to your MP?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I've received the exact same from them! What was your outcome?0
