Now, they are totally separate I believe.

Any account that isn't in the same family as your main account should do. Between ebay's infamous technical incompetence and scams that will emerge exploiting this new system you don't want to have your main Lloyds account affected because you used a Halifax or your HSBC because you used First Direct.I did find some of the insinuations odd. Without further deviating the conversation to something that is a non issue for the question at hand, there's certainly nothing dodgy in selling individual high value items as being implied. People get gifted all kinds of things for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, graduations and whatnot that are worth more than a laptop. If it is utterly inconceivable to you that something like a watch, bracelet, lego set, etc can not possibly be a legitimate milestone gift and one that the recipient would, for whatever reason or preference, rather sell then this is more a sign of your personal circumstances. That sounds harsh or snobbish and I don't mean to offend anyone and would not have written so plainly if the comments that began this conversation were not so bizarrely matter of fact.0

I also have a Clydesdale account that also dormant.0 -

kuratowski said:Actually my reaction was similar to Thrugelmir! I've never received or given a Christmas present remotely as expensive as a laptop or smartphone. Which may very well be a sign of my age as much as my social class. Who are these people who receive a laptop worth hundreds of pounds as a gift but say nah I'll just sell it?! Within my family, if someone was thinking of getting such a pricey gift they would make very sure it was what the recipient wanted and needed first. If it were sold, then the giver would be sure to notice and then you'd cause a family ruckus. It sounds far-fetched.I gave a laptop as a Christmas present to my Dad who is in his 70s. I also gave my old laptops for free to friends of mine who couldn't afford, but needed them. Not expensive new laptops, but decent second-hand ones.I am not sure whether it is a sign of age or not, but I have certainly sold and bought mobile phones on ebay several times, I have also bought 4 bicycles and sold one, and perhaps I bought (and sold) a laptop on ebay more than 5 times in past 10 years... This is certainly not a business activity, but the transaction amount was certainly over £100 in each case.

Getting vaguely back on topic, how exactly do you view or change the account that MyEbay Managed Payments pay one's sales into? I've looked all over MyEbay Account Options, and Seller Account, and for the life of me cannot find it.

My EBay - Selling - Account - Payment Information (top centre heading) - Payments - Payment Options (third heading down) - select the account that interests you (only the last four digits are visible). Manage only gives you a limited amount of choice, but you can delete an account already set up and/or add another.

Going back to the original post, I've registered my Monzo account with eBay without any problems.
The fact that the account is internet based means that I get a notification on my phone as soon as the funds are credited to my account. Similarly, I would get an instant notification if anything was going out as well.
As others have said, I think it is better not to use your main bank account if possible.
