G mail asking for correct credentials for AOL

I have a Samsung smart phone it uses G mail which I signed up to but rarely use, most of my mail is on AOL who wanted some changes a while ago to allow second systems to access the mail which I did and all has been working well. Today I noticed a request from G mail for my correct credentials for AOL, When you click on this a box opens, Sync options, incoming server options, then - user name, password, server, port,security type. these are pre filled in but there is an x against password, entered my AOL password but when I click on next it says incorrect user name or pasword, I have double checked my AOL password is correct so it must need another password, there is no option for forgot password
