Small family hatchback recommendations

May I please have recommendations for small family hatchbacks?
My budget is £3000. I currently drive a Renault Mégane and would like something smaller. I'm a community nurse and have a nightmare finding parking spaces outside patient's houses.
It will be for myself and 3 children aged 7years and under. I don't need it for long trips, just school run, short commute and driving around town for work.
I like the look of
Kia Venga, Picanto

Citroen C3
Mitsubishi Colt- although I must admit I wonder whether this is too small. I haven't heard anyone in real life recommend it or even say they know anyone who's owned one.
Any and all recommendations for a decent, efficient model/make are very welcome. This forum helped me buy my Renault (first car) and it hasn't let me down yet.

On the face of it a VW Polo or Ford Fiesta would probably get my vote.....but I have not owned either.I do know people who own Hyundai i10 and Suzuki Swift / (same as Vauxhall Agila), and have been very impressed.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

The Kia Picanto seems to be well regarded by motoring journalists for its practicality, handling and economy. Kia also have a seven year warranty which is transferable to subsequent owners if you're buying second hand. Honest John, the Telegraph motoring columnist, writes that he gets far fewer complaints about Japanese and Korean cars than European ones, if reliability is important to you.0

..if you go onto "Autotrader" and specify £2,500 - £3,500, under 40k miles and 5 doors about 816 cars show, including Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris and Nissan Micra which may be worth a look regarding practicality and reliability.

Annual mileage?
What you do need to consider, if it's not stating the obvious, is that your 3 kids under 7 are rapidly going to get a lot bigger, and a supermini-sized car may be inadequate, even for shorter runs. The cars you mention are not that much smaller and easier to park: it might be cheaper just to stick with the Megane and bung a set of parking sensors on it?
Of the superminis, I'd guess that the Jazz offers more space than any of the others. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I got a Jazz for a friend, they are relatively "big" inside compared to the outside, and have a very practical interior, (rear seat swabs fold "up").Supposedly super reliable, but they do tend to command a good price for the privilege....."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

What age of Megane is it? They aren't THAT long, so if your aim is to make finding parking spaces easier, you're going to have minimal benefits without trading off interior space severely.
Assuming it's a 2008-16 Megane III hatch, it's about 4.3m long.
A current Fiesta will save about 25cm in length.
A 2013-20 Pug 308 is the same length, almost exactly.0 -
The Mk II Hyundai i10 (2014 onwards) is a nice little motor. Avoid the "Blue" version as it only has 2 rear seats. I have the 1000cc engine which is fine for me. Quite happy in town and on the motorway. My brother had the 1.2 engine in his and he too was happy with it.0

£3k really won't get you much in Polo land, it'll be much older/higher mileage than all the others you've mentioned.
And, to be honest, Polos of that age are a bit rubbish anyway, very basic and very VERY dull inside.
I'd drop that from your list unless you've got a real thing about VW.
