EDF Tariff end date (Ex GNE customer)

I was recently transferred to EDF after the collapse of GNE.  After a not very smooth transition my account with EDF is up and running.  All GNE customers were advised that prices with EDF would not rise until at least September.  On checking my tariff details I see I have an end date of 31st January 2029.

Does this mean my prices are fixed until then, have they made a mistake - if so could I hold them to that date?  Has anyone else transferred and been given an end tariff date?

Look at the first reply from hsmith1.

It says the tariff ends 31-1-29. It also says it is a variable tariff (so they can change the price) If it was at a fixed price it would say fixed.

They may be hoping to keep you until 2029, but they have offered no guarantee as to what you will be paying, beyond September this year.

I was told late September too. There is now way that 2029 can be true with the increase in wholesale prices

I'm ex-GNE, now EDF. The new EDF tariff is dated 2029 but it's a variable tariff. Essentially EDF are saying they will continue to offer their tariffs called "Welcome GNE" until 2029 but the rates charged will change.
Anyone expecting the rates to be fixed until 2029 is fooling themselves.
Personally I'm planning to switch away from EDF in the next few weeks to separate suppliers for electricity and gas (Logicor and Zog, as posted elsewhere).
