Hi I am looking to update my heating setup on my 3 storey townhouse. I currently have a potterton heat only boiler in the kitchen and a boilermate 2000 on the third floor. Been quoted 3700 for boiler replacement  (Worcester Bosch), a filter, update to nest thermostat, and a 210 litre twin coil Unvented Cylinder in place of the thermal store.2 year warranty on work and 10 year guarantee on the boiler. Is this fair? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 👍

That sounds pretty good to me.
This needs a G3-qualified GasSafe, and is clearly more involved than just a boiler replacement. (Someone's been quoted £2.7k for just a WB boiler swap in another thread, tho' that was a combi type).
Have you had more than one quote? That's usually a sensible thing to do, but if you are happy with this outfit - they come with good recommendations, they come across well, etc - I don't think I'd be disappointed with that quote.
Are they removing all the old stuff - tanks, anything in the loft etc? And I presume that have checked your water supply to confirm it'll power an unvented system well?
  • Hi yes, they checked the flow rate and it would be suitable for Unvented conversion. I am hoping this conversion should be good for 15 years plus along with a yearly service of both boiler and Unvented Cylinder 👍
  • It should be good for over 15 years - a 'system' boiler has a pretty easy life, and there's relatively few moving parts anywhere - not expensive ones anyway.
Since it's 'unvented' - pressurised - an annual service is a good move. You'll need it to honour the warranty terms anyway
