Penalty Charge Notice and breakdown

Hi. I took my new second hand car (not driven in years) home from the garage on Saturday and after the sum total of about an hours driving the tyre blew. After leaving it at the roadside overnight, a friend helped me fit the spare tyre and I took it home, but ended up parking on double yellows in the dark! I realised pretty quickly, but then couldn't start it. I had a chocker day yesterday and wasn't able to call a breakdown service and so I've had to do that when I got home today. Unfortunately when arriving home today it had 2 parking tickets, one for the 27th and one for 28th. Do I have any right to contest these tickets if I can provide the council with proof of the callout?
Regards, Pete
